Tom Crean’s first Georgia coaching staff is complete.

On Friday, Georgia hired its third and final assistant in Amir Abdur-Rahim. If that name sounds familiar, his older brother is former 13-year NBA veteran Shareef Abdul-Rahim.

Abdur-Rahim joins assistants Joe Scott and Chad Dollar on UGA’s staff.

Abdur-Rahim spent the last four seasons as an assistant at Texas A&M, helping build a very talented Aggies roster. He previously coached at Murray State, Georgia Tech and College of Charleston.

Joe Scott has been the head coach at Air Force, Princeton and Denver, along with being an assistant at Monmouth, Princeton and Holy Cross. He’s been a coach for 27 years in college, and he’s regarded as one of the best Xs and Os coaches in the college game.

Chad Dollar comes to Georgia after a season coaching South Florida. He’s previously coached in the SEC at Auburn and LSU, along with Witchita State, Arkansas State, Murray State, Georgia Southern, Eastern Kentucky and Western Carolina.

Crean has put together a nice staff that should be able to recruit and develop well. It’ll be interesting to see the program two or three years into his tenure.
