Georgia continues to dominate on the recruiting trail with the latest victory coming from one of the highest rated defensive prospects in the nation as Thomaston, Georgia, native Travon Walker has publicly announced his commitment to Kirby Smart’s program on Tuesday.

Walker made his pledge to UGA during a live commitment ceremony broadcast by FOX 5 Atlanta.

The 6-foot-5, 272-pound defensive lineman ranks as the No. 26 overall prospect in the country, the No. 2 defensive tackle in the nation and Georgia’s No. 5 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Walker picked Georgia over finalist Alabama, South Carolina and Clemson.

His pledge gives Georgia four 5-star commits total for the 2019 recruiting cycle (the Bulldogs now hold commits from the nation’s No. 1 WR, No. 2 WDE, No. 2 DT and No. 5 WR) and bumps up the program’s team recruiting ranking all the way up to No. 4 in the nation. The Bulldogs only hold 13 commitments at this point and already had the nation’s best average commitment ranking and now that number will rise following Walker’s decision.
