UAB’s resurgence under Bill Clark has been nothing short of remarkable as the program went 8-5 in 2017, 11-3 in 2018 and 9-5 in 2019 despite not fielding a team in 2015 and 2016.

These records came after playing SEC opponents in each season, too.

The Blazers traveled to Florida in 2017, Texas A&M in 2018 and Tennessee in 2019. While UAB did not win any of those matchups, you have to at least credit them for being willing to face the challenge.

Clearly, UAB isn’t afraid of facing teams from the SEC and that looks to continue in the future as the Blazers have announced two new games against SEC competition in the years to come. UAB will travel to LSU on Nov. 19, 2022, and to Georgia on Sept. 23, 2023.

In addition to those games, UAB is set to face Miami in 2020 and Georgia in 2021.

Believe it or not, UAB actually owns a win over Nick Saban led LSU, which came back in 2000. The Blazers are 1-1 against LSU all-time and 0-2 against Georgia.
