Georgia LB Roquan Smith has become one of the best players in the country, and is already starting to receive accolades for his impressive 2017 season.

In fact, the talented defender will travel the country this week, heading to the Bednarik and Nagurski trophy ceremonies, where he has a chance to bring home some major hardware.

However, during Georgia’s senior banquet on Sunday night, Smith added the first trophy to his collection, via a surprise appearance from the Butkus Award presenters. As you can see in the video shared by the Georgia football account below, Smith was surprised with a video from Dick Butkus himself, informing him he’d won the award for the nation’s best linebacker:

It was a great moment for the talented linebacker, who will likely be a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

For now, though, it’s safe to say his focus is on making sure his final year in Athens doesn’t end with a Rose Bowl loss to Oklahoma on New Year’s Day.
