Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs came away from the Cocktail Party without a hangover, taking care of their Week 11 business by beating Missouri 27-0 in Athens.

No. 6 UGA (8-1, 5-1 SEC) is one step closer to winning the SEC East for the third year in a row. The Dawgs now need to win just one of its two remaining conference games (Auburn, Texas A&M) to punch its ticket to Atlanta.

After the game, Smart met with the media to discuss his team’s performance, fan support and more. Here are the highlights of his postgame press conference:

  • “You can’t say enough about the defensive staff.”
  • “I want to first say thank you to the fans. I thought the Dawg Walk was one of the best all year.”
  • “I thought we did a good job not turning the ball over. Gotta create more turnovers though.”
  • On Lawrence Cager: “I think he will be fine. He hurt his shoulder again. He could have come back in if we needed him. I think he’ll be ok.”
  • On George Pickens: “He’s getting better. I think everybody is getting better.”
  • “I don’t think about style points, I just worry about what we’ve got to do to win the game.”
  • On running game: “Our RBs had some tough yards. They (Mizzou) are tough to run against. They earned their yards.”
