Jemarl Baker Jr. didn’t play a huge role for the Wildcats on the court during the regular season but the redshirt freshman came saved his best play of the season for in the 2019 NCAA Tournament. While that may have been a sign of things to come, it appears the talent the young guard showcased in the postseason won’t be seen again in Lexington.

According to Evan Daniels of 247Sports, Baker is leaving Kentucky and plans to transfer from the program after appearing in 28 games for the Wildcats. While he only averaged 2.3 points per contest, Baker played 14 minutes and scored six points against Florida in the 2019 SEC Tournament, played 24 minutes and scored seven points against Abilene Christian in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, as well as played 18 minutes and scored eight points against Wofford in Round 2 of the tourney.

It’s unclear where Baker plans to transfer to at this point after arriving in Lexington as a four-star recruit out of Menifee, California.
