John Calipari scored this time last year when he landed Stanford big man Reid Travis as a graduate transfer and the Kentucky coach is hoping for a similar result this offseason as he’s currently pursuing arguably the nation’s top graduate transfer to finish out his collegiate career as a Wildcat.

If you were unaware, Virginia Tech big man Kerry Blackshear Jr. is currently searching for a school to finish out his collegiate career as he put his name into the NCAA transfer portal following Buzz Williams departure from Blacksburg. Blackshear has also put his name into the 2019 NBA Draft but obviously could return to school for his senior season.

Where that would be is anyone’s guess at this point but according to Corey Evans of Rivals, Calipari recently went in home with Blackshear’s parents to pitch to them why their son should finish out his career in Lexington.

Blackshear averaged nearly 15 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game for the Hokies last season. He has played in 103 games over the last three seasons and has improved his scoring and rebound averages in each of his three seasons playing for Virginia Tech.
