Kentucky football got some great news for 2020 on Friday night. Associate head coach and tight ends coach Vince Marrow announced that he is staying with the Wildcats after showing interest in the Youngstown State opening.

Marrow may have fooled some of his Twitter followers who did not read his tweet all the way through, as it starts off like a farewell note.

“Hey BBN I love  and appreciate you guys more than you know! It’s been a pleasure working for UK fans across the country,” Marrow tweeted. “That said my desire to stay in the Commonwealth is greater than my desire to return to Youngstown and be Head Coach. Thanks for  the respect & consideration.”

As referenced in the tweet, Marrow played at Youngstown State before he transferred to Toledo. The Youngstown State head coaching came open after Bo Pelini stepped down to return to LSU as the Tigers defensive coordinator.

Marrow is considered one of the top recruiters on Mark Stoops’ staff and holds the title of recruiting coordinator. He also shined as a position coach in developing Kentucky tight end, C.J. Conrad.

Marrow has been on staff at Kentucky since the 2013 season. He has been coaching since 2005 and has a wide range of experience with stops at NFL Europe, the United Football League, Holland High School, Toledo and Nebraska prior to UK. Marrow played in the NFL from 1992-99.
