The leading rusher in the SEC is closing in on several school milestones.

Kentucky running back Benny Snell is within 103 rushing yards of becoming the first player to reach 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons. His 188 carries are ninth most in the country this season and 22 more than the next back in the league.

Overall, Snell has 897 yards in nine games with 12 touchdowns.

The 1,000-yard record is just one of several Snell is within reach of down the stretch this season. Sonny Collins and Rafael Little each had more than one 1,000-yard season, but didn’t do it in consecutive seasons.

This season, Snell needs just one touchdown to tie Collins and Moe Williams for most rushing scores in school history with 25. He needs 12 more yards to become the fastest player in Kentucky history to run for 2,000 yards.

Snell and Kentucky play at Vanderbilt this week, then travel to Georgia before wrapping up the regular season hosting Louisville.
