The Pittsburgh Steelers can count on having Bud Dupree’s services on the field next season.

That’s due to the fact the free agent linebacker signed the team’s franchise tag tender on Thursday, locking him into a contract for next season.

Dupree is coming off his best season in the NFL as he registered career bests for tackles (68), tackles for loss (16) and sacks (11.5) for the Steelers in 2019. He also had four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries for the Steelers last season.

The former first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft has played his entire professional career in Pittsburgh. The linebacker also garnered AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors last season in a game against the Colts.

In his four seasons in Lexington, Dupree racked up 247 tackles, 39.5 tackles for loss and 25.5 sacks for Kentucky.
