On Friday morning, Yahoo Sports! dropped a bombshell report that named high-profile players who were found of wrongdoing in an FBI investigation.

One of those players was Kentucky star freshman Kevin Knox. His name, along with former Kentucky players Nerlens Noel and Bam Adebayo, was linked to receiving benefits that involved former NBA agent Andy Miller.

On Friday afternoon, Calipari was asked about whether Knox would play in the Wildcats’ game against Missouri on Saturday.

“At this point, I believe (Knox will play),” Calipari said via the Louisville Courier Journal. “I mean, if there’s something that I don’t know…”

Calipari went on to say that he didn’t meet with Knox to discuss Yahoo’s report.

For now, all we know as the Knox was one of several players named for having dinner with Christian Miller, who worked for Miller’s agency. The NCAA hasn’t announced any punishment or immediate action involving players named in the report.

Knox came to Kentucky as the No. 11 overall recruit in the 2017 class. He’s Kentucky’s leading scorer at 15.4 points per game, and he’s coming off a 23-point outing against Arkansas.

It doesn’t appear that Calipari will take any action regarding Knox’s status unless more information comes to light from the FBI investigation.

“I have no relationship with Andy Miller or any of his associates,” Calipari said in a statement Friday morning. “Neither my staff nor I utilized any agent, including Andy Miller or any of his associates, to provide any financial benefits to a current or former Kentucky student-athlete. We will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities.”
