Josh Allen may have slipped a bit to No. 7 overall in the NFL Draft when the Jacksonville Jaguars picked him up in the spring. But several NFL analysts from CBS Sports believe Allen will still deliver a huge rookie season.

The former Kentucky pass rusher is on a solid defense with the likes of CB Jalen Ramsey, DE Yannick Ngakoue, DT Calais Campbell and LB Myles Jack. Three CBS Sports analysts predicted that the New Jersey product will win Defensive Rookie of the Year. They noted that Allen “was the talk of the league after posting an impressive, disruptive performance against the Miami Dolphins during the preseason.” The former SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 also shined against the Baltimore Ravens and quickly stopped RB Gus Edwards for a 2-yard loss.

Pete Prisco stated, “Playing on a front that is already loaded with talent, he is going to pile up double-digit sack numbers.”

Added Will Brinson, “I don’t like to base too much on the preseason, but Allen is going HAM against defenses and looks like he could do damage in the Jaguars already loaded defense.”
