Great news out of Lexington this week as C.J. Conrad has been cleared to return to training in anticipation for the 2019 NFL Draft.

The senior from Kentucky received a scare at the latest NFL Combine when it was revealed a heart issue was going to keep him out of the drill testing at the event. The issue forced him to leave the combine early without getting a full opportunity to showcase what he can do on the field.

Following that news, Conrad shared this statement on Twitter:

“Today I was told that I would not be able to participate in the NFL Combine due to a heart issue that came up during my physical. I am headed back to Lexington to receive a second opinion and get more tests done. The goal is to get cleared before March 22nd for my pro day. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I won’t let this stop me from achieving my dream.”

Upon further testing, Conrad has been cleared to return to practice, the tight end announced on Monday evening with the following statement:

“My prayers have been answered! After getting further testing done, today I was finally CLEARED. I plan on having a pro day April 8. Thank you all that have encouraged and prayed for me through this tough time. I’m back!”

Now that he has a clean bill of health, Conrad will get his chance to show what he can do during arguably the most anticipated Pro Day in the history of Kentucky football. During his four-year career in Lexington, Conrad caught 80 passes for 1,015 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Wildcats.
