Comments made by Selection Committee chair may shine light on how Kentucky will be viewed
A couple of weeks ago, Duke star Zion Williamson’s shoe blew out in one of the biggest college basketball games of the past few years.
The likely No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft injured his knee on the play and hasn’t returned to the court since.
On Sunday, Bernard Muir — the chair of the Division I Basketball Committee — said the selection committee will look at how healthy Williamson appears in the ACC Tournament next week before seeding Duke:
Bernard Muir, the chair of the Div 1 basketball committee, just said on CBS the committee will have to evaluate how healthy Zion Williamson looks in the ACC tourney to properly seed Duke. That seems fraught with controversy.

There’s another team in the mix for a No. 1 seed that is dealing with an injury to a key player — Kentucky. Reid Travis hasn’t played since injuring his knee against Mizzou a couple of weeks ago.
No, Travis isn’t quite as impactful as Williamson, but he’s a huge part of what the Wildcats do on both ends of the court. So, if he doesn’t look healthy in the SEC Tournament, will Kentucky be knocked down to a No. 2 seed or a No. 3 seed? We’ll find out next Sunday.
