It’s no secret that Kentucky running back Benny Snell Jr. is capable of producing at the SEC level but what kind of player he could be at the game’s highest level remains to be seen.

If the players he listed as his role models Monday at SEC Media Days are any indication, Snell has high aspirations for his capabilities in the league.

“My top two right now…my top 3 Adrian Peterson, favorite running back of all-time, Ezekiel Elliot right now because he can catch the ball out of the backfield and pass block, Leonard Fournette, he runs all over defenses so my top three right now,” Snell said during his media appearance from Atlanta.

He also touched on his plans for a big junior season in 2018.

“I still feel doubted. I still feel doubted,” Snell said. “I haven’t really made my mark that I wanted to make… amongst the nation, and I plan on doing that.”

Already the Wildcats all-time leader with 32 rushing touchdowns, Snell can only add to his legacy moving forward and will again shoulder a heavy load in his junior year.

Snell carried the ball 262 times last season, so it’s no surprise the current NFL players he named were workhorses for their programs as well. While Peterson only played in seven games his junior year at Oklahoma, he amassed 339 carries with 15 touchdowns as a freshman in 2004.

If Snell can manage to put up those kinds of numbers, it could be a special season for him and the Wildcats that might end with him declaring for the NFL Draft.
