After a season that offered a lot of hope for next season, Kentucky will apparently move forward without its defensive coordinator.

DJ Eliot will be leaving the Wildcats to accept the same position at Colorado, according to FootballScoop, which cites sources.

Under Eliot, Kentucky surrendered an average of 31.3 points per game in 2016, which ranked 11th among all SEC teams. The Wildcats ranked ninth in yards allowed, giving up an average of 434.2 yards per outing.

Eliot graduated from Wyoming, so it is a return out west for the veteran coach.
