If you missed the big news out of North Carolina, Roy Williams has made the decision to retire from coaching.

No, this is not an April Fools’ Day prank.

In case you need confirmation of that, John Calipari has issued his congratulations to Williams following the UNC coach’s decision to call it a career.

Williams led the North Carolina program for 18 years. Before he landed at UNC, Williams served as the head coach at Kansas.

Williams won national championships in 2005, 2009 and 2017 and he retires as the second-winningest coach in UNC history and third in Kansas history.

During his coaching career, Williams won 18 regular-season titles. He finishes his coaching career with an overall record of 903-264 in 33 seasons of coaching.
