The Kentucky Wildcats hammered the Buffalo Bulls in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday evening.

The Cats defeated the Bulls 95-75 and will advance to the Sweet 16, and this young team seems to be finding its stride at the perfect time.

Freshman guard Hamidou Diallo played the best game of his young career. The 6-foot-5 do-it-all played out of his mind, scoring 22 points, grabbing eight rebounds and making two blocks. His emergence is absolutely critical for the Cats the rest of the way. We have to mention his impressive left-handed wind-mill dunk late in the second half.

Although Diallo played really well, fellow freshman guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a game-high 27 points, grabbed six rebounds and added six assists. Freshman forward Wenyen Gabriel also added 16 points off the bench.

Buffalo senior guard Wes Clark led the Bulls in scoring with 26 points and six assists.

Kentucky advances to the Sweet 16 to face the winner of Sunday’s game between No. 16 seed UMBC and Kansas State. The game will be played in Atlanta on Thursday, March 22.
