Last year, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander started the year off slowly for the Kentucky Wildcats, but then steadily improved as the year went on and ultimately became a first-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

This season, it seemed as if freshman PG Ashton Hagans was going to follow that same path. However, after a hot start to SEC play, he cooled off a bit. He’s still a great defender and has plenty of skills, but his offense needs to develop more.

On Tuesday evening, he took to Instagram to announce that he would indeed be returning to Kentucky for his sophomore season:

PJ Washington returned for his sophomore year this season and it paid huge dividends. Now, the talented forward is set to become a lottery pick.

Will the same thing happen with Hagans? He definitely has the talent to make it happen and jump into the lottery for the 2020 NBA Draft.
