Kentucky just landed commitment No. 7 of the 2021 recruiting cycle and Mark Stoops’ program didn’t have to travel very far to find him.

That’s because Radcliff, Ky., running back La’Vell Wright announced his commitment to join the Kentucky football program during an appearance on Kentucky Sports Radio on Wednesday.

The North Hardin High School product is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 53 running back in the country and the No. 6 overall prospect from Kentucky in the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

“First off, I want to thank God, without his blessing, I would not be in this position that I’m in today,” Wright posted online. “I would also like to thank my family for the sacrifices they have made for me. I want to thank my teammates and All the coaches that pushed and coached me to be the best I could be. With that being said, I will be staying home and committing to the University of Kentucky.”
