The Kentucky Wildcats head into their next matchup in the back half of the season with a 5-2 overall record, most recently topping the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 27-17 on Oct. 15.

Coming off of the open date, Kentucky faces what will be one of its biggest tests of the year with the Wildcats taking on the No. 3-ranked Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols’ biggest win of the season is their recent 52-49 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Stoops dove into some of the keys of knocking off this talented team, which will be no simple task.

“The way we play, we’re methodical anyways,” Stoops said in a recent radio appearance. “It’s not just because we’re playing Tennessee, just look at it, we’re that way all the time… you truly have the opportunity to attack it one play at a time.”

It’s clear that Stoops is not overblowing this game, which is the best approach mentally when they stakes are this high. Kentucky is simply going to go out and do what Kentucky does best.

Kentucky and Tennessee are set to kick off at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday in what will be a hostile environment in Neyland Stadium.
