Kentucky was expected to be an underdog as it travelled to Athens to take on No. 1 Georgia at Sanford Stadium. And there were no surprises at all on Saturday, as the Bulldogs remained perfect on the season with a 30-13 win.

Wildcats head coach Mark Stoops garnered some criticism late in the game, though. With his team at the Bulldogs’ 1-yard line with 7 seconds remaining, he opted to call a timeout. Will Levis then connected with Wan’Dale Robinson in the end zone to set the game’s final margin.

When asked about it by a fan during his radio show on Monday, Stoops was none too pleased.

“Why in the world would anyone think that’s a controversy?” he said, according to Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jack Pilgrim. “They try to stop every play, we try to score every play. That’s how the game goes. That’s a stupid question, ‘Why did you try to score?’ Because I wanted to.”

With the Wildcats at 6-1 and ranked No. 15, they’ll look to get back into the win column on the other side of the open week. They next face Mississippi State in Starkville on Oct. 30.
