According to Jen Smith of the Lexington Herald-Leader, redshirt freshman tight end Dakota Holtzclaw is no longer a member of Mark Stoops’ football program.

Holtzclaw never played a down in Lexington as he was coming off a redshirt season with the Wildcats. The big 6-foot-7 tight end out of Columbus, Ohio was listed as a three-star recruit by 247Sports Composite when he committed to the program in the 2016 recruiting cycle.

With incumbent starter C.J. Conrad coming off a career year with 262 yards and four TDs, and 2018 TE Brenden Bates already committed to play in Lexington, the present and the future of the position appear to be in good shape even with Hotzclaw’s decision to leave the program.
