The storyline of the spring in Lexington has been the strides Terry Wilson has made in the passing game. Coming off a 10-win season, if the Wildcats are going to maintain their status as an SEC East contender, Wilson has to improve his efficiency through the air.

Based on Kentucky’s opening drive of the 2019 spring game, he’s certainly done that this spring during camp.

The Kentucky QB recently spoke about the work being put in in Lexington to make the team’s passing game more explosive.

“Just being dialed in, just doing the little things right and doing what we are supposed to be doing and the big plays will happen. As long as we just take care of the little things and keep pounding it and keep being explosive off the ball,” Wilson said in a video posted to YouTube by Big Blue Insider. “Everybody is running the right route, I’m going through my reads right, all the little things; I feel like we’re going to be explosive, really explosive. Just getting that chemistry, keep working, keep grinding. We will get there.”

Wilson went 4-for-4 on the drive and capped it off with a 42-yard touchdown pass to his favorite target, receiver Lynn Bowden. If this is a sign of things to come in Lexington this fall, Kentucky’s offense should be fine the in post-Benny Snell era.
