WATCH: Kentucky, Mississippi State players square off for pre-game tussle
There was no shortage of trash talk this week leading up to Saturday night’s meeting between Mississippi State and Kentucky.
Running backs Benny Snell and Kylin Hill fired back and forth to each other through the media and on Twitter throughout the week.
There’s no indication what sparked the tussle, which happened about 45 minutes before kickoff. But the game is widely viewed as a barometer for the undefeated teams looking to make the next step in the SEC pecking order.
Though this series isn’t as heated as other cross-division rivalries, the teams do meet each season, so there could be something lingering from last year. Or it could just be good old-fashioned trash talk to get the blood flowing by kickoff.
Let’s see if it carries over into the game.
