It all comes down to this.

West Division champion LSU vs. East Division champion Georgia for the SEC championship.

And a spot in the College Football Playoff. (Yeah, maybe the Tigers can lose and get in, but this is all about winning the SEC title.)

Whoever wins is in. We know that much.

It’s LSU’s record-setting offense vs. Georgia’s suffocating defense.

It’s LSU’s first trip to the conference title game since 2011 when it beat Georgia.

It’s Georgia’s 3rd consecutive appearance in the title game. It beat Auburn 2 years ago, then lost to Alabama last year.

Whose turn is it this year?

Here are 5 reasons LSU wins the SEC championship:

1. Joe Burrow, of course

Let’s get this one out of the way early because it’s on the list every week.

Whether the opponent has been Texas or Florida or Auburn or Alabama or anyone else, Burrow has done stuff that has made it impossible for the Tigers’ opponent to win.

Every week. Lots of stuff.

This game won’t be any different.

Burrow’s next TD pass will break the SEC’s single-season record. He broke the single-season passing yards mark last week.

Only Auburn has been able to slow down Burrow a little and Georgia is good enough on defense that it might be able to match Auburn.

But it’ll take more than that.

Whenever anyone has gotten within striking distance of the Tigers at a crucial point in a game, Burrow has responded with a touchdown drive, or 2 – or 3.

He has been the biggest difference-maker in college football this season and he will be again in the biggest game of his career – so far.

2. Clyde Edwards-Edwards is healthy. D’Andre Swift isn’t

Both teams have a 1,000-yard rusher.

The Tigers’ Edwards-Helaire has rushed for 16 touchdowns – and he’s an important weapon in the passing game. And he’s healthy and he was at his best in November – ask Alabama and Texas A&M how good.

The Bulldogs’ Swift is good too. Very good.

But he has a bruised shoulder, something coach Kirby Smart said has been bothering him for a while.

It knocked him out of the game against Georgia Tech last week, though Smart said he could have kept playing if needed.

After that game, Smart said Swift should be fine for this game.

On Monday he hedged. Since then he’s been coy.

It looks like Swift will play, but he won’t be 100 percent.

Edwards-Helaire will definitely play – and he’s 100 percent.

Advantage LSU.

3. Jake Fromm won’t be able to keep up

Fromm is a good quarterback, but he won’t be good enough in this game.

Sam Ehlinger couldn’t keep up. Tua Tagovailoa couldn’t keep up. Kellen Mond never had a chance.

How is Fromm supposed to keep up?

He has completed less than half of his passes in each of the past 4 games. That won’t cut it.

He won’t have either of his top two receivers in the first half. Lawrence Cager will miss the game because of ankle surgery and George Pickens is suspended for the first half because of his ejection against Georgia Tech.

Burrow has 2 1,000-yard receivers in Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. He has Terrace Marshall Jr., Edwards-Helaire and tight end Thaddeus Moss.

And he has more – if needed.

Fromm and his receivers will make some plays, but Burrow and his will make more – a lot more.

4. The defense is getting its act together

We’re not ready to declare LSU’s defense completely fixed.

But it is healthier, youngsters are maturing and the sacks and interceptions showed up last week – 6 takedowns of Mond and 3 interceptions by 3 Tigers.

The run defense looked much better as well.

It’s getting there.

Coordinator Dave Aranda has figured out some things.

K’Lavon Chaisson showed the elite pass-rushing form that had been missing until last week. Marcel Brooks provides another weapon in a suddenly more blitz-happy attack.

Better depth has emerged in the secondary.

Scoring is not Georgia’s forte and it’s going to have a hard time against this rejuvenated defense.

5. LSU is the better team

Georgia is good.

LSU is better.

Forget about style points and eye tests and even rankings for a minute.

LSU is undefeated for a reason. It has been the best team in the SEC all season, maybe the best team in the country. (We’ll figure that out later.)

Georgia might be the best team the Tigers have faced.

But this is the SEC Championship Game. This decides definitively the best team in the SEC.

That has been LSU.

It will be again Saturday.
