The Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals are both battling for playoff spots in the AFC and will face each other this weekend. Both teams have struggled a bit recently, so a loss by either team would be tough to swallow.

In order to knock the Bengals off, the Ravens defense will first have to stop quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Chase has over 1,000 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns and Burrow has thrown for 3,640 yards and 26 touchdowns. But Ravens defensive coordinator Wink Martindale doesn’t seem to be impressed by either Burrow or Chase and said this about the former LSU stars, now teammates with the Bengals:

“(Davante) Adams is one of the top 2 receivers in the league and he’s not No. 2,” Martindale said. “Aaron Rodgers is a Hall of Fame QB, and I don’t think we’re ready to buy a gold jacket for Joe (Burrow).”

Harsh words. We will see if Martindale’s defense can hold up against the Bengals’ offense this weekend. He’s certainly provided Burrow and Chase with plenty of bulletin-board material.
