Brian Kelly has hired his offensive coordinator at LSU, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Pete Thamel.

Cincinnati offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock is set to become the Tigers new coordinator. The Bearcats, of course, lost to Alabama Friday in the College Football Playoff semifinal from the Cotton Bowl 27-6.

In addition to hiring Denbrock, Kelly is reportedly hiring former Louisiana Tech offensive coordinator Joe Sloan as the Tigers next quarterbacks coach.

Earlier Friday, it was reported that Kelly was set to hire USC’s defensive line coach Jamar Cain, too. So, Kelly is making moves and finalizing his LSU coaching staff.

Kelly and Denbrock worked together in the 1980s at Grand Valley State. He also worked with Kelly at Notre Dame for 7 seasons. Under Kelly at Notre Dame, Denrbock coached the tight ends, wide receivers and was the offensive coordinator. He also became the associate head coach.

Under Denbrock’s leadership, Cincinnati scored 39.2 points per game in 2021, good for 9th in the nation.
