Even though LSU hasn’t gotten great quarterback play for much of the past decade, the school has continued to churn out star receivers.

This year, that should be the case again, as Texas Tech transfer Jonathan Giles and some highly touted freshmen promise to be major threats in the passing game.

Therefore, if Ohio State transfer QB Joe Burrow or sophomore QB Myles Brennan can actually play well this season, the sky is the limit for the Tigers. On Friday, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” and said he thinks the Tigers can be a top-15 team if they get solid quarterback play (via 247Sports):

“They could be a lot better if Joe Burrow is as good as some of the people in the Ohio State program think. If he’s as good as they think he is, then this could still be a top 15 because it’s been a while since we’ve seen them have a really dangerous passing game,” Feldman said. “I think they have the receivers now to be able to do some of that. I just don’t know if they quarterback play is consistent enough to take advantage of some of those things.”

The Tigers have some tough games on their 2018 schedule, including a Week 1 neutral-site matchup against Miami.

However, if Burrow proves to be the real deal, 2018 could turn into a big year for the Tigers.
