Joe Burrow hasn’t been at LSU long, yet he’s already made a wager with one of his new teammates.

However, Burrow doesn’t plan on losing any money. Devin White thinks otherwise.

Since Burrow transferred from Ohio State, as a graduate — making him eligible immediately in Baton Rouge — White has been impressed with the quarterback. That’s part of the reason why the outstanding LSU linebacker is hoping to intercept Burrow at practice.

And also because White now has the opportunity to win $100.

“He’s a cool guy, he wants to compete, he wants to get better at all times, whether it’s the weight room, conditioning or 7-on-7,” White said at SEC Media Days in Atlanta on Tuesday. “We do 7-on-7 without the coaches, me and him, and I like to run my mouth a lot in practice. And I told him, ‘I’m going to catch a pick this fall camp,’ and he said, ‘Team 7-on-7, you will not catch a pick on me and I will not throw any interceptions,’ and he was very confident. So I was like, ‘Put your money where your mouth is,’ and he told me, ‘If you catch an interception, I’ll give you $100.’ And I said, ‘What if I don’t catch one,’ and he said, ‘Then you’re good, just know that I’m not throwing any picks.’ So I was like, ‘OK cool, let’s do it.'”

White had one interception last season, but now the junior linebacker has extra motivation to work on snagging some picks during practice, so perhaps that will translate to games this year.

But when the regular season begins, White definitely won’t want Burrow to be throwing interceptions — unless they’re at practice. Video of the exchange was posted to YouTube by NOLA.com:
