In a season full of big LSU wins, Saturday was by far the biggest win of the season for the Tigers as the team took down No. 2 Georgia, 36-16.

You don’t have to take our word for it, though, Ed Orgeron said the same thing after his Tigers defended their home turf in front of a sold out Baton Rouge crowd. Here’s what the LSU coach had to say on the field immediately after the game.

“Tremendous team effort, our guys were hungry all week,” Orgeron said. “Lot of respect for Georgia, we knew we had to play our best ball. This is our best game, by far, of the year.”

On when he knew his team had taken control of this game:

“I just felt good the whole game,” Orgeron admitted. “We came out in the first half and played the way we did, we could physically stand with them. We stopped them running by the second quarter, I felt good about it.”

On the play of his quarterback Joe Burrow and the toughness he put on display during the game:

“No question. Joe’s tough, he is a leader,” Orgeron continued. “Give credit to the offensive line. This is a great defense, to put up the amount of points that we had, this is a tremendous team win.”

Burrow finished the game by completing 15 of 30 throws for 200 yards and added 66 rushing yards and two scores on the ground in the game. The Tigers put up 475 yards of total offense on the Bulldogs and did not turn over the ball a single time during the game. Georgia, on the other hand, had four turnovers in the game.
