LSU coach Ed Orgeron is excited to play Alabama on Saturday, which he said has one of the best offensive lines he’s seen in a while.

Orgeron said he’s not sure how the quarterbacks will play in the game, but they’ll both likely get a chance.

“Like you saw in the A&M game,” Orgeron said on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “It’s about all 11, protecting the football, it’s not just one guy… we have to protect them better.”

Speaking of quarterbacks, Orgeron said he’s not discussed Myles Brennan’s return in 2021, and he’s taking it one game at a time, and concerning themselves with his health and getting better. Orgeron is glad that Brennan has made all of the road trips.

“Myles has been the best of LSU football since he was a young man, it’s good to have him around. He’s a good team player,” Orgeron said.

Maurice Hampton Jr. is ready to go, Orgeron said, while Tory Carter has been reinstated.

Oregon was asked why there were so many defensive problems early in the season.

“We didn’t have spring football,” he said. “That’s No. 1. New guys, missed assignments. A lot of it came down to communication and we could have called better plays.”
