Good news for LSU: sophomore cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. should be ready to go for Saturday’s game at Texas A&M.

During his weekly press conference, Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron said that Stingley will practice Monday in a non-contact jersey, and although Stingley has yet to be cleared, it “looks like he’s going to be fine.” Stingley was injured on a punt return during this past Saturday’s win over Arkansas.

Stingley has 20 tackles, a pass deflection and a forced fumble in five games this season. LSU’s secondary is better when he’s on the field, so it should help to have him back for a tough matchup against the No. 5-ranked Aggies.

However, the Tigers will likely be missing a player on the other side of the ball. Orgeron said that senior wide receiver Racey McMath is “very doubtful” this week after he suffered an injury during the Arkansas game.

McMath has 14 receptions for 195 yards and a touchdown in five games.

LSU and Texas A&M will kick off at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday on ESPN.
