FSU coach Jimbo Fisher responds to LSU rumors
Following LSU’s termination of Les Miles Sunday, many speculated who would replace the long-time coach in Baton Rogue.
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher, a former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at LSU from 2000-2006, was one of the names being linked to the job. However, Fisher downplayed the rumors and said his focus is on making the Seminoles better.

Sure, Fisher did have a seven-year tenure in Baton Rogue, but at this point him joining the Tigers’ staff is likely a pipe dream. The West Virginia native has spent the past 10 seasons at FSU, which included taking over for legendary coach Bobby Bowden after serving as the “coach in waiting” in 2010 and leading the Seminoles to a national championship in 2013.
But don’t tell that to Wikipedia. As of Monday morning, someone — likely a Tigers fan — edited Fisher’s current position bio to say “LSU” and “SEC” for team and conference.
Well, it’s on the internet so it has to be true.
