Kevin Faulk has strong ties to the LSU program, but his future may not be a part of the Brian Kelly staff.

Faulk will not be kept on as LSU’s running backs coach, multiple sources told Brody Miller of The Athletic, as the former All-American LSU back and three-time Super Bowl winner spent 2 seasons as director of player development and the last 2 as running backs coach.

Faulk could be the second former LSU player previously on the staff to not be retained by Kelly after Corey Raymond left for Florida’s staff under Billy Napier.

Faulk is LSU’s all-time rushing leader by yards (4,557) and rushing TDs (46), who played the Tigers from 1995-98, and helped LSU to 3 bowl appearances over that span. Faulk earned All-America honors from the Associated Press in 1996 as well as being a three-time All-SEC selection.
