LSU was hoping its play at the quarterback position would be improved heading into 2016. Against Wisconsin in the season opener, it didn’t appear as if the wish came true.

Brandon Harris struggled yet again — going 12-of-21 for a paltry 131 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He looked nervous, indecisive, and like an individual searching for some much-needed confidence. Harris’ footwork was inconsistent, and his accuracy (at times) on manageable throws suffered.

As such, the Tigers dropped the game by a score of 16-14.

Speaking at Wednesday’s weekly press conference about Harris specifically, Les Miles certainly held his quarterback accountable for his mediocre play. As an upperclassmen with experience, Harris simply needs to perform better if LSU has any chance at winning the SEC West.

Assuming Harris can ‘stay within the scheme,’ Miles feels as if his junior signal-caller will be fine. LSU will get a chance to get its offense on track this weekend at home against Jacksonville State.
