LSU had a less than ideal season. But the Tigers still had a few promising freshmen.

DE Arden Key was dominant at times throughout the year and will only get better with another offseason under his belt. Key finished the year with 42 tackles and five sacks. He also had nine QB hurries. Key is primed for a breakout season in 2016, especially as a pass rusher.

On the offensive side, LSU’s OL William Clapp contributed right away. He started 10 games at at right guard and one game at left guard and has showed versatility. He ranked third for LSU with 81.5 knockdown blocks and didn’t give up a sack all season. Clapp was named as a starter on the All-SEC Freshman team.

Derrius Guice’s rookie season was overshadowed by Leonard Fournette. But as a freshman, Guice served as a reliable backup to one of the best players in the country. Guice had 51 carries for 436 yards and three touchdowns. His best game came against South Carolina, when he posted 161 rushing yards and a TD. He was also named an All-SEC Freshman starter.
