Thursday night will be a big night for a few former LSU players.

RB Leonard Fournette, S Jamal Adams and CB Tre’Davious White are all expected to be selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft — with Adams and Fournette likely going in the top-10 picks.

They’ll be accompanied in Philadelphia by their head coach, Ed Orgeron, but for Coach O, Thursday is a moment that should be shared with former LSU coach Les Miles.

After Saturday’s LSU spring game, Coach O gave Miles all the credit for getting Fournette, Adams and White to a place where they can be first-round picks.

“What an honor,” he said. “To be honest, Les Miles coached them for three years — he recruited them. Frank Wilson and Corey (Raymond) recruited those guys and you have to give them the credit. I am going there and I cannot take the credit for recruiting those guys. I will say this, every one of those guys, when I took over, supported me 100 percent. I am appreciative of that. I am going to be there as the head coach of LSU but I cannot take any credit of recruiting those guys.”

Clearly, Coach O still respects what Miles built at LSU. He’ll be happy to share in the life-changing moments with his former players, but it’s nice to see him give credit where credit is due to those who came before him.
