LSU is taking on New Mexico at home Saturday night.

It hasn’t been the most dominant or electrifying performance by the Tigers, but they have taken a commanding 17-0 lead to the locker room at halftime.

Armoni Goodwin has scored on 2 rushing touchdowns for LSU, and quarterback Jayden Daneils has been incredibly efficient, completing 18 of 21 passes for 224 yards.

The Tigers defense has also been stingy in the opening 30 minutes. The Lobos have managed just 76 yards of total offense, including just 33 rushing yards on 13 carries.

A win would move LSU to 3-1 on the season in Brian Kelly’s 1st year in Baton Rouge.

Kelly said during the radio broadcast that he was pleased with the opening 30 minutes with the exception of the points his team scored.

“We’ve got to keep fighting,” Kelly said. “We’re dominating, but we’ve got to put 7 on the board instead of kicking FGs.”

The Tigers will return to SEC play next Saturday when they travel to Auburn.
