LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is showing why he’s earned a reputation as one of the most skilled recruiters in college football, as he just added another commitment to the Tigers’ 2018 class.

The latest of the bunch is Florida TE Zach Sheffer, from Nease High School of Tim Tebow fame. Sheffer is rated as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports Composite Rankings, where he ranks as the No. 26 TE in the country and the No. 578 player overall.

As is custom, Sheffer announced his commitment with a tweet that formally laid out his choice:

As a player, Sheffer operated like a big-bodied WR that would often line up out wide. While his 6-foot-3 frame isn’t as long as the prototype, he makes up for it with bulk, hands, and body control. The Nease product weighs in at 230 lbs., and he uses his size to his advantage, bullying his way through the secondary with ease.

With Matt Canada’s new offense, and Ed Orgeron’s famous “gumbo with no rice” weight plan, Sheffer could be up to SEC snuff in no time.
