Despite losing two commitments Saturday night, things are once again looking up for LSU on the recruiting front as top safety prospect Grant Delpit of Florida’s IMG Academy committed to the Tigers Saturday while attending The Opening.

Delpit’s commitment was broadcast live on ESPNU, as seen in the bottom right of his tweet:

“I just feel like it’s the best place for me and I can be successful as a DB and they always put DB’s out and hopefully I can get to my dream of the NFL,” Delpit said on TV immediately after committing.

The 6-foot-3, 181-pound Delpit is rated as the nation’s No. 60 overall prospect, the No. 4 safety and Florida’s No. 12 overall prospect, according to 247Sports. Delpit committed to the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame and Texas, among many others. He is also scheduled to compete in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Game.

After a wild night on the recruiting trail, LSU now has 15 total commitments lined up for the 2017 recruiting class, which includes eight prospects currently ranked as either four or five-star recruits.
