LSU offensive lineman Cameron Wire has entered the transfer portal, per On3 Sports.

Wire will leave LSU after 5 seasons with the program. He will be searching for a new college football team in 2023.

This was Wire’s 1st season with head coach Brian Kelly at LSU. It turned out to be his 1st and only season with Kelly as LSU’s head coach. Wire was with LSU since the 2018 season and the 2022 season was his senior season at LSU. In 2018, Wire did not see any playing time as a true freshman and used that season for a redshirt.

For the 2022 season, Wire only saw action 4 games throughout the entire season. Since 2019, this was the least amount of games he played in a single season. He saw the most action of his career in 2020 when he made 9 appearances and started in 6 games for the Tigers.

Wire’s playing time dipped in the last 2 seasons. In 2021, Wire’s season was cut short in November with an injury. He played in 7 games in the 2021 season. Wire saw less playing time in 2022 and could be looking to play more at another school. He will have the remainder of the offseason to transfer to a new school.

LSU will finish the season against Purdue in the Citrus Bowl.
