LSU has never played in the Rose Bowl, one of the most historic venues in college football, but that changes in about 2 weeks when the Tigers take on UCLA.

QB Max Johnson explained why he’s looking forward to playing in the stadium.

“I’m excited, I’ve always wanted to play in the Rose Bowl,” Johnson said. “I think it’s an incredible place to play, and I’ve even played it on (the) NCAA (video game), which is kind of a cool. I’m looking forward to the challenge, I’m looking forward to competing, I’m looking forward to playing with my team, and it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

However, the special venue doesn’t change LSU’s mindset, he said.

This is the first day the Tigers transition to gearing up for the game, which is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on Fox on Sept. 4.

“I think putting all our focus toward UCLA is going to be big for us,” Johnson said. “It was good getting to compete with our defense. I think we’re all just looking forward to going over to UCLA and looking forward to this upcoming game.”
