Avery Roberts may be one of the top-rated linebackers from the recruiting class of 2017, but you best know what you’re getting yourself into when you call out college football’s frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy.

On Tuesday afternoon, Keith Miller of XOS Digital asked this question regarding LSU running back Leonard Fournette to Twitterverse:

Per 247Sports, Roberts then responded by tweeting, “Same thing I would do to anyone else….Tell him good night and put him to sleep!” The tweet has since been deleted.

Roberts (6-foot-1, 215 pounds), a Nebraska commit who is the nation’s No. 8-ranked inside linebacker and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Delaware, probably won’t get the opportunity to put his words to the ultimate test, considering Fournette is projected by many to be a top 5 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Confidence is key when it comes to becoming a dominant football player on either side of the ball. But maybe Roberts remembered what Fournette is capable of doing and subsequently removed his comment from the interwebs.

We would understand if that were the case.
