Les Miles has been at Kansas for a little more than a week, but he’s already starting recruiting battles over Louisiana prospects.

Four-star linebacker Donte Starks — a Marrero, Louisiana, product who has been committed to LSU since July — tweeted Sunday that he has received a scholarship offer from Miles and the Jayhawks.

It’s no surprise to see Miles working the Louisiana connections that helped him be so successful for more than 11 seasons as the Tigers’ coach. He had a great track record recruiting LSU’s home state during his tenure there from 2005-16, though it will be interesting to see if he can continue plucking star prospects out of talent-rich Louisiana now that he has a change of scenery.

It will be difficult for Miles to successfully flip Starks because of his current commitment and the other power schools also vying for his services, but don’t expect that to deter the coach from competing with his former school on the recruiting trail.
