The LSU offense was incredible in 2019 under co-offensive coordinators Steve Ensminger and Joe Brady.

Brady was in charge of the Tigers’ revamped passing game, but now he’s off to the NFL, where he was named the Carolina Panthers’ offensive coordinator this offseason.

Longtime NFL assistant Scott Linehan is the new LSU passing game coordinator, and he said during a radio appearance on Monday that he isn’t planning to change a lot of what Brady did last year (via 247Sports):

“The best part about this is the offensive coordinator is still here. He knows what it looks like, he knows what he wants. He knows his offensive staff in large part is here as well. There’s not going to be much change. To the naked eye, you won’t see hardly anything.

“There will be some things every once in a while in a situation, worked in the NFL. NFL has a lot of trendy things that people use and no one did it better than LSU last year using NFL concepts. There’s no intimidation at all. I look at it as you know what, you want to be a part of a great system and this system already is great.

“I just want to add to it when I can and do what I can to continue exactly the same approach, Steve’s vision, Coach O’s vision and move ahead. We’re going to have a lot of fun to replace the guys we lost. We look at it as a reload, not a rebuild and think it’s going to be a great experience.”

Obviously, running a system as successful as Brady’s will be easier said than done, especially with all the talent the Tigers lost on offense. Missing out on spring practices won’t help, either.

But, Linehan has been around the NFL for a long time, so we’ll see how the offense looks this fall.
