Paul Finebaum weighs in on Jayden Daniels' transfer to LSU: 'A very big story'
Paul Finebaum and the other big-name SEC analysts got some late-breaking news to discuss over the weekend, as former Arizona State QB Jayden Daniels announced he was transferring to LSU.
That’s a big addition for new head coach Brian Kelly entering his first year in Baton Rouge, as Daniels joins a QB room featuring Myles Brennan and Garrett Nussmeier.
On Monday, Finebaum joined “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning” on WJOX and said he thinks this is a big win for LSU and Kelly:
Great discussion with @finebaum on @AuburnMBB and the impact of @coachbrucepearl on the program moving towards the right direction! https://t.co/xaKpWLvpBX

“I think it is a very big story,” Finebaum said. “Is this a Joe Burrow moment? Is this going to be a transformational moment for Brian Kelly? This guy is a really good quarterback. You guys all know that. But is that all they need? Joe Burrow played 2 years down there and he also had a cast around him that was spectacular. I don’t think LSU does. But I think it was smart. I think Brian Kelly probably doesn’t know what he has, but he knows this guy is probably better than everyone who has migrated. I think it was a very smart decision.”
Will Daniels manage to win the starting job? Only time will tell, but he’ll certainly have his work cut out for him.
