The Cleveland Browns took former LSU safety Grant Delpit in Round 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft and were hoping for him to compete for a starting job right away.

In fact, the former Tiger was already working as the starting free safety during the Browns’ camp, but he was carted off with an injury on Monday.

Now, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s feared that Delpit tore his Achilles tendon during Monday’s session:

That would almost certainly be a season-ending injury for Delpit. The Browns have yet to confirm the injury news.

In 2019 with LSU, Delpit had 65 tackles (4.5 for a loss), 2 sacks, 2 interceptions and 7 pass breakups.
