As the coaching carousel continues to spin, the Baylor head coaching job is probably the highest-profile gig currently open.

The Bears are trying to replace head coach Matt Rhule, who took the same position with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger, LSU DC Dave Aranda has emerged as the top candidate for the position:

As he noted, UNLV was also in the mix to land Aranda, but couldn’t get a deal done. Baylor is a bigger job, though, so we’ll see if Aranda makes the jump this time.

Aranda has been LSU’s defensive coordinator since 2016 and just helped the Tigers win a national title this season.
