LSU sophomore defensive end Isaiah Washington will reportedly miss significant time due to a knee injury, according to Ross Dellenger with The Advocate.

Les Miles confirmed that Washington missed practice Monday, and a source told the paper that he suffered a knee injury that could keep him out for “a prolonged period of time.”

Washington appeared in six games at defensive line and linebacker as a true freshman and recorded three tackles and forced one fumble. He was expected to compete for a starting role at outside linebacker under new defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, but he’s normally Arden Key’s backup at the Buck position.

The New Orleans native rated as a three-star prospect for the 2015 national recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
